Our restaurant is has a reputation from both near and far away for producing delicious meals to the highest standard using localy sourced produce noteably local Caithness beef and lamb and the freshest of seafood. We have a very extensive menu which caters for all tastes and our high teas with our own fresh baking is to die for. Our cosy and friendly lounge and public bars are the ideal place to relax and have a nice hot or cold drink after your day exploring. Our comfortable rooms are all en-suite with tea and coffee facilities and decorated to a high standard. All rooms have flat screen t.v. with freeview. Wireless internet is also available. The renown beach with sand dunes at Dunnet - some 2 miles long - rarely has more than a handful of people on it it’s unlikely that you could want for more area of beach per head anywhere in the UK. It is a wonderful safe beach for children to play in surfers sand yachting etc. or simply to watch the sun as it sinks down in the evening. Also close by is Dunnet Forest with well trodden paths and professionally maintained trails it is a great place for a meandering walk and is frequented by dog walkers from miles around. Children love the forest for it’s many hidey-holes and it’s abundance of wildlife flora and fauna. However if you want breathtaking then walk or drive up to Dunnet Head - the most northerly point on the UK mainland. There are superb views and a plethora of bird life. On a clear day you will have a fine view over The Pentland Firth to the Orkney Islands in the north and the breathtaking hills of Sutherland to the west. We are situated close by the main car ferries to the Orkney Isles at Scrabster and Gills Bay and the short sea passenger only ferry at |John O'Groats being in a prime location to take in a day excurtion or longer visit to the Orkney Isles.
